I’m always on the look out for treatments that leave me feeling fresher and looking at the top of my game, and last week when my spirits started to flag and my face started to follow me I headed straight Dr Angelica Kavouni in London to take advantage of the next generation in skin smoothing technology Thermage FLX.

Like most men I love results-driven treatments, so what if I told you that Thermage FLX is also the only single-treatment radio-frequency skin tightening treatment in the UK, and there is also little-to-no downtime for the patient…now have I got your attention? This non-invasive procedure is designed tackle wrinkles and fine lines, and its aim is to firm up the skin and leave it feeling both smoother and tighter. In short, just what I needed!

Dr Kavouni explained that as radio frequency waves are delivered to the deep dermis, a heat reaction occurs, and as the body automatically tries to heal the heated tissues, collagen is then produced. The new Thermage FLX treatment features a new, optimised energy delivery algorithm, known as AccuREP™ technology, which automatically measures and precisely tunes the amount of energy delivered to my face.

During the treatment all I could feel was a gentle heating sensation as the wand set to work. The treatment was also pain free thanks to a new vibrating hand-piece to enhance patient comfort, and a new, larger treatment tip that reduced treatment time by 25 percent. Post treatment my skin was a little red (for no more than 30 minutes) so I could resume normal activities immediately. The next day my skin felt physically tighter and brighter and friends and colleagues commented on my fresher and more rested appearance. What I noticed myself was improved skin elasticity and a marked reduction in both my lines and wrinkles.
