The cornerstone of looking groomed has to be great skin, so here at Grooming Towers leave no stone unturned, when it comes to face treatments. The latest I tried was a non invasive, included ‘growth factors’ and promised to speed up collagen production, renew facial tissue AND rejuvenate skin…so did it?

NATURAL GROWTH FACTORS
Environmental exposure and the normal process of ageing can lead to excessive free radical damage of the skin’s cellular components, so growth factors can be vital in maintaining a youthful appearance. They are found in many different cell types in the human body and are a group of specialised proteins which play a role in increasing cell production, cell division, blood vessel production. In this case they can delay the need for more invasive plastic surgery treatments.

THE PROCESS
After having numbing cream applied and waiting for it to take effect I met Dr Roberto Veil who worked by applying the gel serum on my face, then he applied a face stamp with fine spikes of 0.8mm in regular movements to the areas with gel. He repeated this step a total of three times during the treatment. As Roberto explained ‘the channels I create allow a huge increase in permeability so that topical products can penetrate the skin.’

THE RESULTS
Although initially a little irritated, my skin soon calmed down and the next day it appeared firmer and over the next week or so skin clarity and freshness was dramatically improved. I may have noticed results after just one treatment but Dr Roberto suggests a course of three to maximise results. Lastly a word of warning avoid retinol, glycolic, and alpha-hydroxy acids, and before you try any of these suggested treatment duos… always consult your dermatologist!
