Cliveden Spa – Warm Oil Massage

‘The holy grail of relaxation and escapism’

Quite simply there are hotels and there is Cliveden! Now, hidden behind the brick walls of the garden, there is an oasis of relaxation and well being, that is Cliveden Spa. So in a modern world where the pace of life spins ever faster, is this really the holy grail of relaxation and escapism?

Set in the heart of Berkshire, Cliveden has the perfect location, just far enough from London but also accessible in the extreme. Perhaps that’s why it also boasts a rich history, which spans over 350 years of power, parties and yes scandals. In truth Cliveden has always been a by word for elegance and luxury, and I’m pleased to report that that still hold true today. Think sofas to sink into, tapestries, open fires and exquisite art, and if that wasn’t enough to entice you, there is now  a modern yet decadent spa.

The products on offer include Skinesis by Sarah Chapman, which have received multiple awards and resulted in her becoming one of the most sought after facialists. Other skin care ranges on offer include the award winning brands of Oskia and Varley, both are heaven sent for those in pursuit of for perfect skin.

At Cliveden Spa even the finest details have been afforded the utmost care and attention, from the elegant decor (think luxe natural fabrics and softy coloured paintwork) to the welcome extended to you by the team. This meant that from the moment I arrived, my worries melted away and I was transported to a world of escapist relaxation.

Permitted the choice of a range of treatments I opted for the Cliveden Warm Oil Massage. This bespoke treatment, was guided by my own personal holistic needs, and the rhythmic movements eased tension, rebalanced my energy and helped detoxify my body to enhance my general well-being.

After a hard morning relaxing, lunch further deepened my enthusiasm for this establishment. All the produce available was seasonable, sustainable,  and uncompromising in taste. Later in the day dinner in the restaurant followed, and what a treat it was, thanks to André Garrett who joined Cliveden to establish this restaurant which carries his name. He worked like a fine artist to create signature dishes that were reminiscent of culinary classics, this resulted in effortless and exquisite dining and a truly memorable meal.

In a sea of spas, Cliveden currently stands head and shoulders above the competition. Thanks Cliveden for feeding my body mind and soul, I’ll be back.
