Tom Ford Noir Fragrance

Tom Ford – Noir Fragrance

‘For the Tom Ford Corinthian’

Having won ‘Men’s Nouveau Niche Fragrance of the Year’ at the 2012 Fifi Awards for his signature scent ‘Private Blend – Jasmine Rouge’, there has been a mad buzz surrounding the release of Tom Ford’s latest fragrance. Here at The Grooming Guide we have been lucky enough to get our hands on a bottle. Titled simply ‘Noir’, the enigmatic fragrance has apparently been created to capture the relationship between the inner, and outer, persona of the Tom Ford man. But is this the olfactory equivalent of the white shirted sophisticate we know and love?

The bottle is dressed for evening; all smoky black glass, which is stamped with a T and F on either side, with a ridged-effect lid (think Mr Ford in a tuxedo). The fragrance itself is intoxicating from the first sniff. It has a smooth and velvety core, combining spicy Black Pepper and Nutmeg with luxurious Iris Resin and Egyptian Geranium which make for an Oriental bouquet. Woody base notes are combined with the sensuality of Leather and Benzoin, which are enlivened by the top notes of Bergamot and Violet Flower. Are you ready to get up close and personal?

E. Tewkesbury

Verdict: ‘passionate and seductive in equal parts’

Price: £60 for 50ml bottle
