Penhaligons – Savoy Steam Eau De Cologne

‘The new fresh!’

When it comes to British fragrances houses, few can beat Penhaligon’s combination of tradition and quirkiness! Inspired by the heady, musky aromas emanating from the Turkish baths on Jermyn Street, William Penhaligon created his first perfume Hammam Bouquet in 1872. Fast forward to 2017 and Penhaligon’s latest offering ‘Savoy Steam’ pays direct homage to the original.

One glance at the bottle, with its mini hammam towel tied around its neck, and it’s clear that elegance will ooze from this Eau De Cologne. Explore further with a few splashes of Savoy Steam and you’ll notice the soothing scents of Eucalyptus and Rosemary, as well as vibrant top notes of Lemon Primofiore. Finally notes of Fir Balsam and White Cedar enter the mix with a blend of Resins and Incense to underscore and ground the scent.

Our testers found that this Hammam Friction really does possess a fantastic freshness that’s reminiscent of the Turkish baths. They appreciated its ‘aromatic yet wearable’ quality, even going so far as to suggest that it would be equally well suited to men or women. Feel free to splash and dash, as this fragrance will take you anywhere, but why not indulge in your own bathing ritual, wrap a towel around your waist, turn the taps on full and….Savoy Steam?!
