Although we test every new male fragrance here at The Grooming Guide, it can be difficult to find an aroma that asserts itself over this sea of new scents. Happily because of it’s robust, masculine and vibrant nature Guerlain Homme L’Eau Boisee has made us sit up and take notice!
Perfumer Thierry Wasser has chosen to preserve the original Homme L’Eau accords of citrus, mint, and rum and then overdose them in Vetiver, and by doing so he has created a fragrance which is sunny and bright but also has a smoky longevity. Our testers could not have been more positive about it’s combination of greenness with woody masculinity, they also like also how long it lasted on their skin. Our Grooming Girls even suggested that they would wear it themselves, and it’s easy to understand why…what could be more sensual than a torrent of ice cold water tempered by the smoky woody aroma of Vetiver?
Verdict: ‘masculine and vibrant in equal parts’
