Givenchy – Gentleman Givenchy 2017

‘A modern masculinity….bottled!’

If you want to be in our gang you should know a little something…we’re a bunch of hedonistic, free spirits, and we know how to have a good time! Well we are based in Notting Hill: home to creatives and net-hippies alike, so perhaps that explains why we’re big fans of Givenchy – Gentleman Givenchy 2017.

Who isn’t aware of Givenchy Gentleman, the legendary spicy, warm, and woody fragrance that was first released in 1974? Well its new incarnation Givenchy – Gentleman Givenchy 2017 shows exactly how this fragrance would be if it was made today. It’s an intoxicating balance of strength and sweetness, so it’s refined and subtle yet well suited to the strong and soulful. So a single spritz is enough to make a lasting impression, but not a complete assault on the senses.

Top Notes: Pear, Cardamom
Heart Notes: Iris Lavander
Base Notes: Patchouli, Black Vanilla, Leather Accord

If Givenchy sees the 21st century gentleman as ‘a free, audacious spirit who doesn’t conform to cliches.’ then this is also an apt description of the scent. Here at Grooming Towers we love its unexpected floral twist which is centred right in the heart of the fragrance where classic Lavender has been paired with Noble Iris. The bottle design is the perfect blend of nuanced masculinity and untethered free spirit. A plain black waistband complements the transparent glass design. Solid and heavy: holding it carries the same masculinity points, as cradling a glass of whisky.

Thanks Givenchy, not only have you delivered a stand out juice in the most stylish of flacons, but with the addition of Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the face of fragrance, it really is the peak of chic! What’s not to love?!
