‘I use cocoa butter from the woman in my life and I use it all over!’
With sunshine smiles and equally sunny tunes, this English hip-hop duo from Brighton jumped onto the scene back in 2011, with the super catchy track ‘Down With the Trumpets’ and equally addictive dance moves. Half Jordan ‘Rizzle’ Stephens and half Harley ‘Sylvester’ Alexander-Sule, the track was written when they were just sixteen, so these guys have grown up in a world of music and project their enthusiasm in their notoriously lively and energy-infused stage shows. The single ‘Mama Do The Hump’ sees James Corden crash the music video, thoroughly getting ‘down with the trumpets’. And he isn’t the only one… ah hem.
With busy schedules and growing careers – Harley is almost unrecognisable in his role of ultimate gangster in the August release film ‘The Guvnors’ and Jordan stars in E4’s new youth drama Glue – these guys have to keep their grooming short and sweet. With their new single ‘Tell Her’ out for release on the 11th August, we ask Harley to tell us all on his grooming guidance…

Who takes longer to get ready, you or Jordan?
Jordan, not necessarily just grooming but taking naps, pottering around. Neither of us are sure what he really does, but he always manages to be late!
How do you keep cool and clean in a heatwave?
I often taken cold showers, not too cold though just nice and lukewarm.
What deodorant do you use, roll-on or spray?
Generally both, it just depends on how intense my potential body odour may be – I like using Sure spray along with Nivea roll-ons, my favourites! Funnily enough Nivea’s Double Effect for women roll-on always keeps me fresh ha.
After a big night out, how do you make yourself look presentable the next morning?
I always keep my hair short and splash cold water on my face to get rid of the sleep. That’s about it though….! I woke up like this…. “I woke up like this” ha.
Have you ever had any grooming disasters and if so, what happened?
I had one seriously BAD ski tan incident and the worst thing was I had a show in the evening, so I had to be covered in layers of foundation to even out my skin. Embarrassing.
When it comes to smelling sweet are you loyal to one fragrance and if so what’s your favourite?
My favourite brands are Hugo Boss and Calvin Klein. If I had to choose my favourite scent it would definitely be One by Calvin Kein.
You’re both still young, do you use daily skincare products and if so which ones?
I’m lucky I’ve got good genes, so my skin is naturally clear. But I use the Braun CoolTec CT2cc Wet & Dry Foil Electric Shaver to keep my beard nice and tidy.
Have you ever had a facial?
Surprisingly, yes! I had a brilliant facial at Wickwoods country club hotel and spas in my home-town Brighton.
When you’re getting ready for a gig or a night-out what’s your grooming routine?
I always have to brush my teeth before I get on stage. No matter if I’ve brushed ten times earlier in the day, it’s my little ritual.
Do you ever borrow skincare products from the woman in your life?
I use cocoa butter from the woman in my life and I use it all over!
Your new single is called ‘Tell her’ if there was one thing you could tell the lady in your life about her grooming, what would it be?
I would tell her that her skin is amazing.
