“Meet Sacha Britain’s manliest man’
When inspired shaving brand Bluebeards Revenge carried out a survey to find what famous people’s features were judged most manly the results were interesting. It seems that the composite masculine man has a combination of George Clooney’s hair, Scottish actor Gerard Butler’s eyes, Hollywood star Brad Pitt’s nose, British actor Jason Statham’s mouth and James Bond-actor Daniel Craig’s body.
After launching a nationwide competition in collaboration with the Daily Express to find this macho chap Sacha secured more than 140,000 votes and won. The Bedford Blues flanker is a clever chap it seems as he took his campaign to BBC TV, BBC Radio, the Rugby Times and the Bedfordshire on Sunday newspaper to secure those all important votes. The rugged 27-year-old has now taken part in photoshoots and TV ads and is set to shave in a host of extreme masculine locations, including a lion’s den and while skydiving. Here he tells us how he avoids the filth to look tip top.
As a sportsman you need to take care of your body, do you take care of your face?
Yes I think its important and tend to wash my face after every session on the pitch. I do that with a gentle exfoliating wash such as L’Oreal Men Expert, which I follow with a daily moisturiser. For shaving I’m a big fan of the Bluebeards Revenge range.
Do you have a daily grooming routine?
I don’t have a grooming effect as such but whenever possible I try to focus on the basics, I’m aware for example that I should keep my skin in tip top condition as regular training combined with time spent in the showers can dry my skin, I try to keep on top of this.
What hair product do you use?
I am loyal to Aveda Men Pure-Formance Grooming Clay as it gives me the desired effect without making my hair look like it is full of gunk.
What skin product do you use?
L’Oreal Men Expert does the job for my face. I use Cocoa Butter on my body, it’s a pretty basic product but keeps my skin in good condition.
What product do you use in the shower?
Radox always leaves me clean and feeling refreshed
How do you clean up after a match?
Often I am absolutely filthy and covered in mud, so I take a long shower to clean up and follow with a good moisturise using coco butter to stop my skin from drying out.
Do you have a signature aftershave?
I tend to like anything form Hugo Boss. Im looking forward to trying their new release…
What does being well groomed mean to you?
Like most guys my approach is a straightforward one. I think that that it is just about making sure we do the best with what we are given.
Are there any guys in the public eye do you think are well groomed?
David Beckham is a good looking lad, he always take care of his image and keeps up to date with trends in both fashion and grooming.
