‘Mr Darcy has morphed into Spencer Matthews. A more groomed, fake tanned and teeth whitened member of the Chelsea set’
Made in Chelsea’s Ollie Locke is known for his his luscious lid and immaculate tan. Hell, he was even able to maintain them throughout his appearance on Celebrity Big Brother earlier this year! Forever causing a stir on the reality TV scene our friend Ollie is back once more to talk primping and preening and share with us his latest beauty secrets. From botox to over plucked brows, Ollie’s our man in the know. Here are his secrets to looking good and feeling great!
Is there a ‘Chelsea’ look when it comes to grooming?
In the past Chelsea may have been known for slightly erratic aristocratic eyebrows, sideburns and a general hairy but polished appearance. A couple of 100 years later Mr Darcy has morphed into Spencer Matthews. A more groomed, fake tanned and teeth whitened member of the Chelsea set.
What part of your grooming routine do you really enjoy?
Every two weeks I spend an hour with my spiritual guide/facialist and I come out feeling emotionally and dermatologically revived.
To botox or not to botox?
It all depends on what you feel happy with. If you look in the mirror and think ‘those lines don’t look great’ then get rid of them…it’s the joy of 21st century grooming.
What’s your favourite fragrance?
Terre d’hermes – I love the more mature Arabic undertones
Do you think social media is affecting guys’ relationships with their
appearance? If so, how?
I feel the ‘selfie’ has been a major influence on the development of men’s appearance. Although mainly female driven, it’s not unheard of for men (especially reality celebs) to experiment with a selfie.
How much grooming is too much grooming?
There are men out there who groom themselves too much. I feel men with very thin eyebrows always look awful.
What products are essentials in your wash bag?
Vita Liberata Fake Tan, Chanel Eye Brow Pencil, Mac Concealer. The most important thing in my life is Matis Youth Hydrating Mask which I sleep in every night.
Do you have a life-hack beauty tip or product you’d care to share?
You can never can go wrong with ‘Veet’ Hair Removal Cream!
Your hair is the envy of most females, how do you get it so shiny? And what sparked you cutting it short (we like!)?
Brazilian blow dry and treatments keep it looking healthy whilst not brushing it too much is always a great tip. After 10 years of long hair, I felt I needed to look somewhat more manly. Also people use to pull it!
