‘I use hair wax, it stops me looking like a newly shampooed puppy!’
Although he’s worked extensively in both film and theatre, you’re most likely recognise actor Nick Hendrix from his television roles in Marcella, Foyles War and The White Queen. Now the dapper Nick has a new challenge… to uphold the law in Midsomer County alongside DCI Barnaby!
Here at Grooming Towers, we can’t help but think that these six feature length episodes to be aired in 2017, will see ratings soar. Thanks Mr Hendrix, for stopping by to share your tips on looking good and feeling great.
So, what’s in your wash bag?
Does the side pocket of a gym bag count?! I’ll always have moisturiser, deodorant and hair wax, they are my three go to products. Currently there’s also a mini shower gel ( by Hermes) from a hotel and a splash of Boss by Hugo Boss to keep me smelling sweet!
Are you a skin care fan?
As I have to be clean shaven for Midsomer Murders, my skincare routine is entered on shaving so I use Kiehl’s Facial Fuel Energizing Scrub to prep my skin, they also have a great toner. I also rate Dermalogica’s Post-Shave Balm to calm my skin.
Which other guys inspire you in terms of their style and grooming?
You rarely see David Beckham not looking great, and obviously no one dresses better than Bond!
Looking good sometimes comes at a price….have you ever had any grooming disasters?
Our teenage years are by definition a collection of grooming disasters as we try to figure out our look, our changing bodies and insecurities. My family happily remind me of mine on a regular basis and the long blonde haired, Hanson-esque days get a lot of air time!
What is your earliest fragrance memory?
My first scent is one, and I’ve come back to it recently as my daily scent. Boss by Hugo Boss is my smell for sure. That said I’m fond of a few fragrances and tend to match them to certain events, I wore Issey Miyake as a PT and I’d wear Mont Blanc for a wedding etc. I’ve just been given Bleu de Chanel but I’ve yet to find a place top wear it.
You have starred in action movies most noteably Captain America, how important are health and fitness for you?
Crucial! I’ve been training since I was 14, from rowing and rugby at school originally through to keeping fit and strong as an actor, and I’ve also worked as a personal trainer. Fitness might make me look good but more importantly it also makes me feel great.
Who would you most like to act alongside?
I worked with Tom Hardy a bit on Legend but I’d love to really spar one on one with him, as he’s magnetic on set. Also DiCaprio as he’s an only old school movie star with a faultless cv, I would also have killed to be on set with Jim Carrey in the Ace Ventura/Liar Liar days, just to see the crazy magic that came out of him each day.
What does London mean to you?
London to me is friends and family, most of my favourite people in the world live in and around London. Sharing this great city with them is what makes it for me, above all London is choice. there’s nothing we can’t taste, try or experience here…we’re spoilt. It’s the best city in the world.
