Cleo Sol

‘I like a bit of grizzle on a guys face’

Dubbed as one of the most promising rising stars on the music scene, Cleo Sol is a name to look out for this year. Having found her passion aged 16, Cleo’s determination to get out there led to her being approached by our friend here at the Grooming Guide, Davinche, and went on to collaborate on some amazing tracks with him.

From there Cleo went on to collaborate with some very impressive celeb names; Tinie Tempah on ‘Tears’, as well as the official Orange Rockcorps anthem ‘Give a Little Love’, alongside Roll Deep, Wretch 32 and Aggro Santos.

When she’s not gigging, Cleo loves to just chill at home watching music channels, or take bike rides round the streets of her West London home, Ladbroke Grove. We caught up with her to find out what she likes in a guy (not dirty nails!) as well as her go-to hero products.

Apparently, you have cancelled Sky at your home as you would spend all of your time watching music videos! What are your current favourites?
I’m really feeling Nicki Minaj’s ‘I am your leader’ and Azealia Banks ‘1991’ they are both channeling the 90’s era.

Are there any particular males in the public eye that you feel are well put together and well groomed?
I’ve always thought Johnny Depp brushed up well.

What is your favourite male fragrance?
It’s unisex but Molecule 01 Eau de by Escentric Molecules is good, with a little cocoa butter underneath.

As you had grown up with 6 siblings were there any fights over grooming/styling products?
Actually I was probably the most low maintenance, as long as there was still hot water when I jumped in the shower, some hair gel and a slick brush.

When you’re out on gigs and touring which products can you not leave home without?
Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream, blotting paper, astral and extra strong hair spray.

What do you use to maintain your amazing hair?
I love to use oils on my hair every night, and regular trims and treatments.

Do you have a preference for guys with or without facial hair?
I like a bit of grizzle on a guys face, yes.

Upon first meeting, which (grooming) details do you look out for in a guy?
Fresh breath, clean scent and clean fingernails.

What are your top turn offs?
Nail biting and bad breath.

Are there any products that you use which a guy could benefit from?
No, but washing regularly is good.

Could you give us an insight into your daily grooming essentials?
Baby oil for the body, Argan oil for the hair and finish with Givenchy Dahlia Noir.

Cleo’s next single ‘Are You Ready’ will be released in October this year.
